Women and society

Women and Society is a simple and student-friendly book for first-semester undergraduate students at Calicut University. It is part of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) and is offered as a Multi-Disciplinary course.The book introduces basic ideas about women and gender, focusing on everyday life in Kerala and linking it to wider national and global issues. It follows the university syllabus and is useful for students from all streams who have chosen Sociology.It also looks at the role of women in society—past and present—and explains how gender affects our lives.
